Tinted smart glasses?

I kind of want to get a pair of tinted smart glasses. I'm thinking of trying out a pair of them, but not sure if they're really worth it. Anyone used smart glasses before?

I would really like some of the auto tinting style glasses, but do they really block enough sunlight to be worth it?

If you've used smart glasses before, which ones? Did you like them? What did you use them for?

My father in law who is nearly blind recently got some meta glasses. He's loving them. And he got the transitions lenses. They do seem to work well for him.

I don't want anything attached to Meta/Facebook though. lol

His doctor actually recommended them to him. And it's much improved his quality of life, because the glasses can do stuff like read menus to him and stuff like that. Very useful as he continues to have his eyesight degrade.
