Ubisoft is celebrating the successful launch of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, which has set a new franchise record and helped reach a major milestone. Jokingly called the worst-kept secret in the gaming industry following numerous leaks over the years, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced launched last week on July 9 and very quickly began […]

I plan to get this but probably not until the fall or maybe even some time in winter, might even be next spring at this point. Replaying Rise of the Tomb Raider right now, about 3-6 hours left there, and then probably another run through of RE Requiem and maybe some other stuff. Got a good backlog of stuff and this, and 007 are ones I'm waiting to get much later.

See I actually prefer third person of all things unless its a shooter. Interesting.
Imagine how much time you'd spend with your face nearly pressed against surfaces when climbing in AC games. Good luck countering attacks when fighting mobs. Knowing which is the best direction to dodge roll, etc.

And from that article:

Dang. They could just take those assets and do a complete underwater focused game and the team would've made them easy millions. Frickin' idiot narrow minded short sighted executives.

Literally an Aquaman game idea staring them in the face.

Not to sound rude... but Aquaman... is a tuff sell. I mean maybe better now with Mamoa having played the character... but that is still no guarantee.

Maybe not Aquaman, but something related to Atlantis (not a comic book).

While it is common to let go of contractors when a game is done, Ubi was f'ing stupid to make this team pay for others' mistakes. Ubi is in a s**t place because of repeated stupid decisions, and when they finally do have a hit on their hands, they double down on yet another. My condolences to the family for thier recent tragedy but beyond that my loathing for them grows with every new instance like this.

The industry itself operates on this high pay short work next to no security window. There are key assets they keep around and everyone else are effectively twmp workers. Its like employing talented short term contractors for a project. You have a few talented people and offer to convert a few others. But especially for the European countries... there is little incentive for the workers to stay on. They Have more Life security than we do in the US.

While it is a crap process from a US citizens POV its not nearly the burden as it would be for those of us working in the US.

I totally get it but between their other failed pirate game, outlaws, Avatar, NFTs, and I think maybe a couple of other flops so at some point accountability should go to the top and those at the bottom shouldn't have to pay for it. They had to know this game would do well given the amount of "leaks" which surfaced over the last two years and the positive coverage it got which stirred up further interest in it. It was an instant hit at launch and instead of putting a quality effort into something to follow, they jettisoned the talent and are probably already using AI, something they've said they intend to do, to generate a cash grab. Not to mention all the added microtransactions, some of which are more than just cosmetic, which were shoveled into this one.

I'm know I'm ranting, but I'm just so sick of this company even though they occasionally do manage to release something I'm interested in. This company is seriously making EA look angelic, who btw we haven't heard a peep out of after being bought out.
