Yep, starting to look like it'll be the card I go into retirement with. At this point I'm more interested in getting a high end 1440p display to assist it into the sunset than I am in paying god knows what for whatever succeeds it.

Don't worry. 5090 will look almost yucky once Nvidia releases the nextgen. Their marketing will make it look like 5090 owners are peasants. One thing they are really, really good at. I don't hear much about 4090 these days. So 6090 should cost about $6000 at most. Start saving!
Yep, noticed that in recent years like how almost every new x80 is supposedly more powerful than the previous x90 yet once released and tested is usually proven false except for some rare and bizarre metric that doesn't normally pertain to real world gaming.
