Because it's Apple, what could possibly go wrong?

We get 3 or 4 of these a month for Microsoft, in-between the "Microsoft Update nukes your computer/fills your hard drive/bricks your laptop" self-inflicted damage. And a handful a year for Linux.

You get one in a blue moon for Apple and it becomes headline worthy.

Not sure what that says... security in obscurity? Not worth targeting the 0.2% installed base?

Between Malwarebytes' newsletter, Engadget, Gizmodo, and The Register, I actually hear about Apple stuff about once a week or more, but I usually just read and move on. This one was a cherry-on-top moment given how much is at stake if a system were compromised. I do agree though; more is seen and said with MS, and their craptacular solutions don't help their reputation.

Over recent years, I have spoken with various security specialists, and it's become more common that the issue with Apple's increased security issues lies more with poor decisions by its users who think it will babysit them through any scenario and thus forego common sense with installing things they shouldn't or ignoring basic security protocols.

I may have a child that went to art school... now they are a barista and looking to go to school to be an architect. ;) Getting them a better windows laptop for that.
