During today’s Memory and Storage 2020 event, Intel announced various new solid state drive products for the data center and client segments. They include two new Optane SKUs, the Intel Optane SSD P5800X and Intel Optane Memory H20 with SSD, as well as three NAND SSDs: the Intel SSD 670p, Intel SSD D7-P5510, and Intel SSD D5-P5316.



The Optane SSD P5800X, which is being billed as the “world’s fastest data center SSD,” represents Intel’s first attempt at a PCIe 4.0 SSD. Any real benefits to a regular computer pleb?
For me I just love Intel’s high DWPD rating and endurance.

With these drives I couldn’t imagine it ever being worth it for a regular computer pleb.
