Electronic Arts announced that it is laying off around 300 employees, which includes many from the studio behind Apex Legends and Titanfall.

Wasn't Apex pulling in big dollars at one point? I thought it was still fairly large.

The issue in my mind with WRC is that it isn't traditionally a head to head race. It's a drivers race vs the course and time. You get the opportunity as a driver to extract every iota of performance from a WRC car while not having to contend with other racers on the track.

While F1 is as much about racer psychology and getting in the other racers heads/keeping them out of yours as it is the amazing machines.

Honestly I think we need another group like Hoonigan to step up into the mind of people. Get some amazing stunts going, get some attention back on WRC racing. Because he and that team were putting together stuff people WANTED to engage with at least in the US. Over seas WRC has always been super popular. (See people getting ran over by WRC cars and effectively cheering about it.)
