Nintendo Switch 2 Smashes Previous Sales Records, Might Be NVIDIA’s Biggest Launch of 2025

Who would have thought nvidia could claim its biggest launch of 2025 is a console, just like AMD used to claim with sony and xbox consoles.

On a side note, I read somewhere nvidia now has like 90% of discrete game graphic cards. And the 50 series is supposed to be a failure...

Quantity doesn't equal Quality

and

Not all of those 90% are 50 series
most probably, but more than enough to gain 90% market share, I do expect it to drop somewhat, precisely because of the 50 series., and remember we are talking gaming cards, AI is maybe like 97%

Love or hate nvidia but I've said it for years. Pretty much every market its in, it's the dominant player. Be it robotics, AI, self driving, content creation, rendering, multimedia production, HPC, you name it.

Yeah, and I almost posted this morning about how Blackwell GPUs now have 4:2:2 support in Adobe Premiere Pro. One more feather in their cap.

I'll probably do a news roundup post later since there's a few odds and ends tidbits out this week.

I don't use Premiere (or do videos for that matter), so I don't know how relevant it is.
