    It would appear that placing the 3D cache on the bottom is allowing it to boost closer to it's full potential. This is good news. Now I can only hope even more than the 9950X has dual 3D cache on both of it's CCDs.

    Pretty sure all this does is disable one of the CCD's in a dual CCD setup. So the CPU acts as a single CCD setup. For the X3D SKU's it disables the non-X3D CCD and only activates the X3D one.     Yeah it's going to be a real shame if the 5090 is priced for the rich. The way things are looking my new build is probably going to be either a 9950X3D (If dual 3D cache on both CCDs) or 9950X and probably a 4090 since I wont be paying Nvidia tax for a 5090.

    So far mine has held up and I use my mouse/computer for hours a day every day. I can't remember exactly when I bought it, but it was earlier this year. The mousepad has replacement "pads" that you can swap out while keeping the wireless base station. Haven't had to worry about that yet either.
