The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is now available for purchase, and with it comes the news that AMD's first "Zen 5" desktop processor to feature 3D V-Cache, priced at $479, can hit 6.9 GHz and enable frame rates as high as 1,400+ FPS in popular games that include Valorant and Counter-Strike 2 when cooled with liquid nitrogen.

There are Amazon sellers already above $800 on these things. This may end up being my next CPU, but not at those prices.

In-stock and priced at $476 on Amazon right now. Hopefully AMD can keep the stock flowing so those scalpers can't make a cent off them.

Sold out everywhere that I can see though I wasn't trying to get one so I didn't look real hard.

Oh, seems you guys are right. When I searched 9800x3d it showed me the 7800x3d instead. I didn't even notice.

Sadly, I did expect this to happen, and pretty much the same with almost anything people might have a great interest in buying. I did some research over the summer and was really bummed to see that scalping is considered a recognized taxable business throughout much of the world, including the U.S. and there are even tutorials online about how to do it. It disgusts me but it is what it is.
