  1. So annoying high end motherboards with Wifi.

M.2 Slot Key E sometimes come vertical... that's how it is on my asrock and MSI boards... I assume others as well. The only thing they take space away from is fitting more stuff on the MB back panel, so maybe a pair of USB ports? So they really don't take up much space when pre-installed on...
  2. Recommend me a mousepad...

Challenge accepted!!! Just have to figure out how to get that to my house and installed without the wife noticing.
  3. AMD Radeon RX 6000 Series Flagship (Navi 21 XT) to Feature 2.4 GHz Game Clock, 16 GB of GDDR6 VRAM, and 255 W TGP?

Now the real questions, is it the XT or XL model that they showed benchmarks for during the zen3 announcement? :). I'm anxiously awaiting some real reviews though, it'd be absolutely amazing to have some GPU competition again, and all indications are pointing to AMD either taking back the...
  4. Recommend me a mousepad...

Rat Padz don't fray ;). In all seriousness though, I haven't found a mousepad that doesn't fray overtime that's cloth/rubber of any sort. These cheap ones I've been using have been holding up pretty well, although I do more development/modelling on my PC than I do gaming, so not as rough on my...
  5. So annoying high end motherboards with Wifi.

I agree in general, my 1gbe infrastructure at my house is normally my bottleneck while moving files, etc. My wireless isn't as fast most of the time, but I'm still on AC and even then I'm far enough away that I don't always get great speeds, so I don't think I'll be removing my hardwired...
  6. Recommend me a mousepad...

Yeah, my son has one of that's like 3 feet wide and 1.5 feet deep or something rediculous (hyper-x).... Hard to keep the monitors far enough back to not sit on it, but he has his keyboard and mouse on it with plenty of room to spare and it do with shift around when he's playing. I know mine is...
  7. So annoying high end motherboards with Wifi.

My last 3 motherboard had WiFi, and that was intentional. While I use wired connections in most of my house, not all of my rooms have ethernet run and my living room has 4 desktops in it alone and I haven't put a switch and ran wires all over just to use them. Add to this I bring at least 1-2...
  8. AMD Ryzen 9 5950X Annihilates Intel Core i9-10900K In Early Cinebench R20 Single/Multi-Core Tests

I guess, I felt like a brand new 3700x was a pretty good deal @ what amounted to $190. If you feel that's not a deal, then that's fine too ;). Not everyone is patient and impulsive at the same time, lol. I'm impulsive as when I find what I feel is a good deal I'll jump on it even if it's not...
  9. Recommend me a mousepad...

I've still got 2 ratpadz laying around, I really should dig them back up. I think I put it away when I had an optical mouse that had some tracking issues with the matte black surface (it was a sh!tty mouse). Anyways, I don't really have a huge preference on mouse pads though, I found a few...
  10. AMD Ryzen 9 5950X Annihilates Intel Core i9-10900K In Early Cinebench R20 Single/Multi-Core Tests

I'm just weird, I wake up and decide I feel like upgrading, then I find whatever makes me feel like I'm getting a deal and buy it :). Over the summer I asked my son if his PC was still keeping up ok... he said yup, no issues. I promptly told him we needed to upgrade it anyways, the 3300x...
  11. What Linux OS do you use currently?

I don't have a single Linux install with a UI... Got 2 Rapid, 1 server and1 "test box" all running command line only. Never understood the point of a Linux desktop, I try it once in a while (about once a year for 20+ years now), see it still sucks* and load windows back up. Still waiting for...
  12. What's the point of Ryzen DRAM calculator?

Did you click the "Show delay in ns" link before doing the complete export? If not it will not load. Anyways, it's not required, just a tool that can help some folks out.
  13. What's the point of Ryzen DRAM calculator?

Don't type in a bunch of information, download something like thaiphoon and let it read your module information, then export that into the DRAM Calculator and let it calculate the values. The usefullness is in giving you some baseline numbers/values to start with and not having to start from...
  14. RX6000 preview

Yeah, I guess Ultra doesn't mean much in the scheme of things, it's just most of the things I found near 100fps where not on max but high. Who knows what AMD is calling Ultra or w/e, as mentioned it makes it really hard to compare. What we can say is AMD is anywhere from faster by a few FPS to...
  15. 3070 Delayed?!?!

I agree, production capacity is a big part of things. They want to produce/sell as much as they are able to. But they know their capacity already (unless it's way short of expectations, but if that's the case, they knew this before launch anyways) and they must have had a reasonable idea on...
  16. RX6000 preview

The settings show High when I've seen 100fps and the 85FPS I linked said Ultra... the screenshot from AMD has Ultra listed, so we know it was not High, but as I (and you) mentioned, individual settings and setup may still vary so we really wont know until direct benchmarks at exact settings are...
  17. RX6000 preview

Um... when did the 3080 get 100FPS @ 4k? Oh, I see, you're comparing HIGH settings on NVIDIA to Ultra on AMD, lol. Check out benchmarks, yes NVIDIA is around 100FPS when you run it at high settings. It's < 90FPS on ultra, which puts it almost exactly the same. As we know the setup could make...
  18. 3070 Delayed?!?!

I think NVIDIA's delay is both due to AMD and due to lack of stock. It's still going to be before AMD releases hardware, just after their announcement, probably to take some of the excitement away. I love how they play it as they are doing you a favor though, it's almost derogatory at this...
  19. AMD Ryzen 9 5950X Annihilates Intel Core i9-10900K In Early Cinebench R20 Single/Multi-Core Tests

lol, this is rich. It's not fair to compare top end to top end, or even 2 items in the same price range. Let me guess, you were against comparing AMD's 5700xt to anything above $400 too? Yah, that's what I thought, if you want to stay in your vacuum that's fine, the rest of us live in the...
  20. AMD Ryzen 9 5950X Annihilates Intel Core i9-10900K In Early Cinebench R20 Single/Multi-Core Tests

Did nobody notice he completely has the wrong numbers in this story? Look at the chart, it's the 5600x that got 604, not the 5950x... that scored 641. At least he got the right MT score I guess ;).
