  1. “Birds of Prey” a Monumental Flop for WB: Female Superhero Film Opens at Just $33 Million

Out of that list, I really liked Suicide Squad, loved Wonder Woman, and thoroughly enjoyed Shazam. The others...meh. DC just lacks the "oomph" factor when it comes to making most of their movies, IMO.
  2. "Intel in jeopardy" insiders say - Much worse than what Intel is saying...

Yikes. Intel is suffering from their own Coronavirus and, similarly to the real thing, it's way worse than being reported. ...Should name their next-gen "Wuhan Lake".
  3. Time to go AMD...

Jealous. I'm eyeing the MSI X570 Carbon, 32GB of single rank DDR4-3200, and a 3700X or 3800X, but an upgrade will have to wait until much later this year or possibly next year's tax return due to a bunch of house upkeep issues that just sprang up. Le sigh.
  4. PSU Tech Look: Cable Length and Voltage Regulation

Approaching this with the eyes of someone who's gone through EE classes, that's a great review/comparison. No difference at these voltage and amperage levels, as expected.
  5. The next battle ground for video cards... Ray Tracing and other next gen features.

Today's consumer grade RTRT seems like it's just a "oooh, shiny (and reflecty)" tech demo, rather than a feature set that stands above. My gut tells me that real-time ray tracing hardware for the consumer segment is in such a stage of infancy that it will be at least another 5 years until it's...
  6. Ubisoft Undergoes Major Restructuring Following Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Division 2 Failures

Hmmm, I like the way you think: like combining elements of the Space Quest series, Freelancer, Starfleet I/EGA Trek, Dark Forces/Jedi Knight/Force Unleashed, X-Wing/Tie Fighter, and the very old classic Sundog Frozen Legacy.
  7. Ubisoft Undergoes Major Restructuring Following Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Division 2 Failures

While I agree that Ubisoft needs to restructure in this fashion in order to boost customer interest and sales performance for future titles of these franchises, I am rather happy with UPlay and the Far Cry franchise. What I wish they would delve into is a single-player open world space sim...
  8. AMD Ryzen 5 Mobile 3500U Vega 8 iGPU Review

Wow, very nice review! You know, it's rather impressive that AMD is able to squeeze out dGP MX150 performance out of an IGP with that low of a TDP configuration.
  9. What's your favourite motherboard ever?

Yes, sir! It housed Gigabyte's "DPS Module" http://www.hardwarezone.com/articles/view.php?cid=6&id=1373&pg=2
  10. What's your favourite motherboard ever?

Probably the Gigabyte GA-K8NXP-SLI, paired with an Opteron 170 that I used to have. Stable OC to 2750 @ 1.37Vcore I loved that system.
  11. Danny Elfman: The Simpsons Is Probably Getting Canceled Soon

I don't know...at this point, it seems like one of those series that they will perpetuate because it's just...there...forever...
  12. ASUS Announces ROG STRIX Riser Cable for Vertical GPU Mounting

So, this is for taking the stress of a big and heavy GPU off of the PCIe slot and prevent GPU sag/warp? If they claim it's to reduce temperatures, then I'm going to call BS on that since the chassis fans will still be moving the same volume of air, regardless of how things are oriented...
  13. Is Nvidia Working on mGPU Support?

The last mGPU setup I ran was a pair of Asus GTX 780s. eVGA GeForce 7600 GT CO's prior to those. GTX 6600 GT before those. ...3Dfx V2 12MB SLI was my first mGPU, and I ran a single GPU up until the 6600s. Thought about replacing my 780s with a pair of 970s, but glad I opted for a single 980Ti...
  14. NVIDIA Bringing GeForce SUPER Series to Notebooks in 2020?

Glad to hear it...the more dGPU options available, the more competitive the market gets.
  15. Hulu Raises Price of Live TV Streaming Plan to $54.99

The benefit is being able to pick and choose each streaming service and cancelling one or more whenever desired, without having contractual locks like most cable/satellite providers.
  16. Rumor: Valve to Announce VR Title “Half-Life: Alyx” at The Game Awards

People complained about the ridiculously long wait for Duke Nukem 3D's successor, then complained even louder about getting a subpar game delivered...and that was with a $50-60 launch price. This is a very bad approach to continue the HL series, IMO, because I doubt that many HL fans are...
  17. Will Nvidia’s RTX 2070 Be Making a Comeback?

Very interesting if true. I was under the impression that all vanilla RTX models would eventually be replaced with their refreshed Super variants (for those that are getting such variants), at some point.
  18. NVIDIA’s “Ampere” Successor Is Reportedly “Hopper,” an MCM-Based GPU Architecture

Makes sense that future GPUs will consist of scalable cores since it's proven to be a viable solution, thanks to smartphone SoC IC manufacturers and AMD Ryzen/Epyc mobile, desktop, and workstation/server processors.
  19. NVIDIA Launching GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER on November 22nd

Whatever works...I'd buy one if it existed, at the price point that I mentioned.
  20. NVIDIA Launching GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER on November 22nd

Want to see a 1680Ti for around $700.
