level1tech watching three ASROCK AM5 mobos like a hawk!

AMD gave this guy a 9950X3D to replace his faulty 7950X3D: https://www.overclock.net/posts/29534694/ So I guess that means the 7000X3D series (other than possibly 7500X3D/7600X3D) is out of production. That or AMD decided to do that for PR reasons (hey, buy fearlessly and if you have an issue...

    RAM == LOBSTERS???? OH CRAP!

How long before they follow suit? You know the Koreans literally worship America and want to BE America. Next thing we know, the entire DIY community is depending on shady chinese RAM sticks. This is gonna kill the DIY industry. Without RAM, system builders, even shops will close. I can't...

Yeah but it isn't happening to Arrow Lake so they have a way out.

This is why AMD needs to get their head out of the sand. Who knows how many others are thinking like this?

    Smoking hot deal! 32gb DDR5 for only $400! /s

Time to buy rosary beads :p I've had one used PC failure that I can remember. Got i3-6100 HP office PC with a 1060 mining card that worked in Windows with an older driver or worked in Linux. The PC died after cleaning it with a 3M dust blower. The mining card survived and I sent it to my friend...

    35% off @ $259.99 Intel Core Ultra 7 Desktop Processor 265K - 20 cores (8 P-cores + 12 E-cores) up to 5.5 GHz

Wow. 9950X3D is losing badly in the AI portion. Guess the lack of physical cores is hurting it there. Looks like this is one benchmark where 52 core Nova Lake will reign supreme.

Decent PC under $400 for kids and family

    35% off @ $259.99 Intel Core Ultra 7 Desktop Processor 265K - 20 cores (8 P-cores + 12 E-cores) up to 5.5 GHz

Unfortunately, 9950X3D still has an edge: https://openbenchmarking.org/vs/Processor/Intel+Core+Ultra+9+285K,AMD+Ryzen+9+9950X3D+16-Core 285K does well in some benchmarks but loses badly in a lot of others (mainly AI). When you weigh the pros and cons (9950X3D can work fine even with DDR5-4800...

    9850X3D speculation

There's the 270K/290K and then they are supposed to jump to 400K series (Nova Lake).

    9850X3D speculation

Sounds reasonable. The value addition with a game didn't cross my mind but that's a good way to blunt the impact of the higher price.

https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-confirms-ryzen-7-9850x3d-an-even-faster-8-core-cpu-with-3d-v-cache What do you guys think? Every 9850X3D chip will hit 5.6 GHz given enough cooling? What's the price gonna look like? $549? $600 (shudder!) ? It would be VERY generous of AMD if they replace...

HT dead? Are you sure, Intel?

Hmm...someone is saying that 255U is actually Meteor Lake on Intel 3. That would explain the HT availability.

HT dead? Are you sure, Intel?

I personally think the security implications are blown out of proportion. If HT were a wide open vector for malware, AMD would be turning it off too. No matter how high the core counts, HT increases throughput and reduces idle resource time inside each core. That's worth turning it on or leaving...
