I currently have a Sapphire 7900xtx Nitro+ and am considering an ASRock 9070 XT Taichi as a side grade and slight power usage reduction so I can give my niece the old 7900xtx and 5950x combo. I have been looking over lots of reviews and it is hard to find these two cards directly compared for some reason even though they APPEAR to occupy exactly the same spot on performance charts. What I am wanting to know is if anyone can confirm or deny that I am basically doing a side grade and wont notice any real performance difference except in raytracing efficiency?

From my research before going to a 5090 from my 7900xtx. Its a aide grade wkth slightly better RT performance everything else swaps around. FSR 4.1 is better on the 9070xt.

As long as i am not LOSING more than 8% performance I will be okay with that. I am not looking for an upgrade and instead considering a performance side-grade and efficiency upgrade while my niece inherits a great performing computer.

Seems like a side grade for sure, possibly more of a downgrade though IMO. May also depend on resolution and the OS used. For instance, 7900XTX may do better when at 4k due to more memory and bandwidth, and I think both cards may perform better in Linux compared to Windows. That said, a new Asrock 9070XT may be nice, as Asrock has a 3 year warranty, Sapphire only 2 years (probably expired now).

I recently ended up getting a new Zotac 5080, and sold my Sapphire 7900XTX Nitro (couldn't fix the RGB) and even that I consider more of a sidegrade, as I am still losing 8GB of memory on the card.
