Alienware 32 4K QD-OLED Gaming Monitor - AW3225QF for $849 ($350 off)

Alienware stuff is almost always up there but I still remember seeing 32" or larger 4K monitors going for ~$2K in that last couple of years, so this cheap compared to those.

One of these days I'm gonna jump to OLED monitors, but I don't think quite yet.

Every time I see the LG C-series on sale I nearly break, but my wallet has held strong so far - they are just too big. But common sense doesn't always apply...

I have to say that my worst tech obsessions are also the most expensive, GPUs and displays. I will say though that the LG OLEDs I've bought have all pretty much kept me from wanting anything else. Our first, LG C9 (2019) is still going strong and being used in the cave with the 9800X3D build.

I couldn't bring myself to spend nearly $1,000 on a 32" monitor today. It's not that I won't spend more on a monitor, I obviously did with my current display. But there is no way I could spend that much on a monitor that small.

I did once, about ten years ago on an LG IPS 4K that was meant for video editing before HDR was a thing. Didn't have any gaming type features but it was incredible with 10-bit support and so incredibly sharp,, native 4096x2160. The biggest regret is that it had bad capacitors or some such and would produce a popping audio glitch (turned out to be a thing for these). The first few years weren't an issue, but it is essentially unusable now since that also causes a flicker on the screen when it happens.

These days now, I wouldn't touch one considering what the TV's go for. I do love the 42" C2. I thought it might end up being to big for a desktop display, but it is kind of a sweet spot for 4K. I was also psyched to recently discover that it, and the C9, could do 21:9/21:10 3840x1600/3840x1440 120Hz resolutions and still support 120 Hz/G-Sync with HDR.

Given all this, I'd say the new better deal is this at $610 for those who don't want OLED and are committed to a monitor instead of TV.
