AMD’s newly launched Radeon RX 9070 GRE is not hopping off to a good start, according to German retailer Mindfactory. Per 3DCenter (via VideoCardz), consumers are opting to buy last year’s Radeon RX 9070, which features higher specs and costs slightly less. Understandable moves by the buyers.
This release is rather a nothing burger.
Its nice to see something out there but the overall compromises will make this a tough sell.

Lets keep rehashing old **** because new **** has to go to enterprise or we will be sued by investors. Isn't it great being publicly traded?

yup. Igor predicts that 16gb cards will shoot up in price, once current stock gets depleted.
This is all part of the reasoning I got a 5090 now as opposed to waiting.

Of course if I wait even longer to sell my 7900xtx it could appreciate in value... lol.

Must be a EU thing as the 9070 is more expensive here in the US
When I wrote my review, I had the US pricing in mind.

I know the 9070 GRE GPU isn't "new"

But it is "new" to the US market and other regions, where it was not available, and you just couldn't buy it. In that regard, it is new to this region, and might as well be a new GPU you can buy now. That is how I saw it. /shrug

In addition, it is a much better value for performance vs 5060 Ti 16GB which is in the same current price range, today.

I also think 16GB cards will not go down in price, but up. Further separating it and making the 9070 GRE a better value over time this year.

I agree. I think it's a good value at the $549 MSRP. The OC cards at $580-590 become less of a value. Might as well spend the extra $20-40 for the full blown 9070.
