Well it seems to be the season for spec leaks lately. Barely a week, or even a day, goes by where someone seems to spot something somewhere. Hilbert over at Guru3d posted a story about possible Ryzen Threadripper 4000 leaks. Not a whole lot of info but a 2nd chip may have been spotted.

"While we still have to see even a sign of life for the Threadripper 3000 series, some speculation on the 4000 (ZEN3) series already has begun as the database of AIDA64 gives a hint. In AIDA64 the code names "Vermeer" and "Genesis" appeared. And the last one is a next-gen Threadripper.
Vermeer is said to stand for Ryzen 4000 and Zen 3 overall, actually that is common knowledge. Genesis, however, is new and might be a synonym to Genesis Peak in the US state of Washington, in the immediate vicinity of Castle Peak and Colfax Peak. On the thesis, it is assumed Genesis is Threadripper 4000, because Threadripper 3000 has the codename Castle Peak reserved, while Threadripper 2000 is Colfax (Peak).

Maybe Zen2 Threadripper will be 4000 series? Ryzen kind of took the Threadripper model numbers, Ryzen 3900x and 3950x. Or will they have the same model # but have Threadripper always in the name, Threadripper 3900x, Threadripper 3950x?

With more skews for the desktop I can see why the greater than 8 core chips took TR numbering.

So will TR start at 16 core and up to 64? Seems like a lot of possible skews.
