used to talk some serious smack about soundbars up until I tried our first one a few years ago.

Yeah they are surprisingly good now. I’ve been telling friends/family that unless you already have high end speakers or equipment, or are willing to throw more than $1k at it, to just go with a sound bar. Even the lower end ones are vastly better than built-in TV sound.
