The experience features select tracks from the game and its expansions, arranged for the occasion by The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt composer Marcin Przybyłowicz, who will also join select stops as a special guest.

I would actually go to this if it came near where we live. TW3 soundtrack is one of my all-time favorites that I do periodically listen to, in fact just did a couple of weeks ago. Same for TW2 and I've got the extended version of it. Also have the 1st one but some parts are a bit strange as you can tell they were still trying to figure out a direction for it that didn't really come together until the 2nd game.

Just going to say that I really admire Marcin Przybyłowicz. I'm not super knowledgeable about classical music but was a huge fan of the Conan soundtrack back when I was a kid and at the time was very difficult to track down but during my searches, I learned about Holst: The Planets, Carmina Burana, and Verde The Seasons. Once that happened I began to notice how so many composers reference/borrow bits from those three but I truly appreciate how Marcin uses other influences to create memorable images with his music.

Back on topic ... A couple years ago, GoG gave away copies of a Witcher 3: Wild Hunt concert video. I think they wanted to get into the digital video distribution market, but I don't think that panned out well for them. Anyway, the video is nice ... especially if you like Witcher stuff. Personally, I'm ambivalent about it. I'm sure I've mentioned many times here that I never could get into the games because I think the main character is unlikable for one, and my memory is of janky combat mechanics. I know others really love the games, and that's ok. To each their own.

I didn't know about that. I'll have to see if I can find it.

I totally understand about not being able to like a main character. There's more than a few games like that for me as well.

It is here and currently on sale -60% due to their current winter sale ... for $3.99 (+VAT).

[edit ... and my memory failed me. It was actually in 2017, not a couple years ago. My how time has flown.]

Thanks! Just purchased it as that's a more than reasonable price. Looking forward to watching either tonight or tomorrow night while enjoying a couple of Founders Imperial Stouts.

Thanks again, we watched it last night. GOG gives download options for 720p, DVD, 1080p, and 4K (20 GB). I downloaded the 4K version which took ~60 minutes because their server only offered ~40-60 MB/s, but mostly worth it. A considerable amount of pixelation but still looks decent on the 85" screen, and has a Dolby Surround audio track which sounded nice in 7.1. Performance-wise, awesome and so happy that we finally got to see the orchestra. It inspired me to play some selections from the 2nd game. However, the projected game video footage was a mixed bag. Huge orchestra btw. Clocks in at basically 90 minutes but I would've liked 2 hours. Totally worth the $4 (and while I was there I snagged Robocop Alex Murphy Edition for $25).

I didn't realize that Marcin Przybyłowicz didn't compose the soundtrack for the 2nd game as there are many similarities between the two but that one was done by Adam Skorupa and Krzysztof Wierzynkiewicz . I think it's great that CDPR is celebrating the 10-year anniversary of TW3 but it'd be nice if they could get the 3 composers together to do a longer concert featuring selections from both games. Oh well and either way, I hope they do another release for this concert series as well.

I've quite possibly downloaded terabytes from GoG over the years just keeping all titles in my library current. I have absolutely no inside knowledge of the matter, but based purely on observation it is clear their content distribution network has either weak links and/or segments with low bandwidth. Some titles will download super fast and others will seemingly take a bucket-in-dogsled route. I don't know if individual file transfer speeds are proportional to titular demand, or if they just have dodgy hardware in need of upgrades. More popular titles, and those newer to the platform, seem to download quicker, whereas older niche titles seem slower. It's a quirk of the system, but also possibly intentional balancing intended to keep their costs lower. I just download as many files in parallel and let them all eventually work out. But I absolutely dread having to update games with a massive number of large files (e.g., Dying Light - or most anything from Sony).
