I enjoyed the eff out of Control and would like to see another with it's unique and interesting story elements.

That's all it was, some interesting story elements that amounted to nothing ultimately. In a game of repetitive encounters, annoying backtracking, and frustrating running around in mazes.

I've been gaming for **** near 40 years. I'm so used to those elements that they feel normal and fine to me.

I figure to each their own and there's enough out there for almost everybody. I often feel like a minority with a number games that I like in that their publishers say they didn't make enough profits and end up closing the studios or they're games that get bashed by other folks for whatever reason. Meanwhile there are many war game franchises, and other franchises/genre's that I'm not into but I know have been around for decades and have committed followers.

On that note, no I didn't enjoy the first game, or so far anything in this Control/Alan Wake universe. I wish the best for them and happy they made their mark but its not for me and despite them saying the next will be Action/RPG, the odds are slim to none that I'll check it out. The only exception will be if I get it for free with a hardware purchase like I did for Alan Wake 2.

That's also how we normalized Day 1 DLCs. A flaw is a flaw no matter how many times I've seen it before. I'm not saying Control is a terrible game, but the prospect of getting more of the same doesn't sound very enticing to me.
