EA Releases Early Gameplay Footage of Dead Space, Showcasing Completely Overhauled Graphics

During a developer livestream held yesterday, EA Motive shared the first gameplay footage for its upcoming remake of EA Redwood Shores’ 2008 survival horror classic, Dead Space. It looks very good.



As indicated by one of the comparison shots shared by the developer, EA Motive appears to have done an excellent job at retaining the atmosphere of the original while dialing up the creepiness with greatly improved textures and shadow detail. That’s despite the game still being in an early stage of development, as noted by the disclaimers on all of the gameplay clips.



EA Motive complemented the footage with a bit of insight on some of the changes that have been made to Dead Space’s memorable limb dismemberment system. Unlike the original, players will not only be able to cut off the limbs of Necromorphs but also watch their flesh peel away when they’re...

Oh I so cannot wait for this! I have absolutely loved the Mass Effect remaster and hopefully this one will be just as good. I have loved Dead Space ever since I first heard the "twinkle little star" trailer 13+ years ago. This will be a day 1 buy for me.

I've not really been impressed by the single player games coming out lately so I've been replaying old games like this or Bioshock and so on. Being able to play them with more modern graphics will be the best of both worlds for me.
