The Snapdragon X Elite, a new ARM SoC that maker Qualcomm says is the most powerful processor that it has ever created for the PC—so much so that it's set to revolutionize the platform completely—is capable of delivering up to 14 hours of battery life, although gaming performance, as expected, falls a bit short, with the chip only capable of delivering frame rates of around 26 FPS for popular titles that include Cyberpunk 2077, according to some of the first reviews that surfaced today for the ASUS VivoBook S 15, one of the first Copilot+ PCs.

So Tom's has an interesting point and it comes back to comparing Apples and Oranges. MacBooks can have batteries rated at 70-100 Whr while the Snapdragon X Elite laptops top out at 66 Whr. You don't need great math skills to compare 66 to 100 and figure ~40% difference.

"As you can see in the table below, the MacBook Pro 14 and 16 lasted longer than 17 hours on our test. Of course, it helps Apple that these laptops have humongous 70 and 100 Whr batteries. None of the Copilot+ PCs we tested has more than a 66 Whr battery with most under 60 Whr. So, perhaps with a battery capacity similar to the MacBook Pro's, the Snapdragon laptops would top the list."
