Sony Pictures has released a new trailer for its fourth installment of Ghostbusters and the direct sequel to 1989’s Ghostbusters II, Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Directed by Jason Reitman (the son of Ivan Reitman, who directed the first two Ghostbusters films), Ghostbusters: Afterlife centers around what’s alluded to be Egon Spengler’s daughter and grandchildren as they move out to a farmhouse in Summerville, Oklahoma that unsurprisingly turns out to be a site for supernatural activity. The trailer is notable in that it reintroduces Annie Potts’ character from the originals, Ghostbusters secretary Janine Melnitz. The mysterious person at the end picking up a red phone is also speculated to be Ray Stantz.

Ok, I think this might actually stand a chance. Who knows, Stranger Things have happened... 😉 😉
 
After all these decades it sure would be nice if this franchise could get a proper revival.
 
Lol, I was just rubbing salt in that wound. Nobody wants that travesty back. This one looks to have some decent potential
