Introduction The new GIGABYTE B850 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 is a brand-new motherboard from GIGABYTE based on the AMD AM5 platform and the new AMD B850 chipset. It is targeting an MSRP of $229.99, allowing more enthusiasts to jump on the AM5 bandwagon in a more affordable package. Yet, it still provides everything you need for […]

Keeping a close eye on the newer B850/X870-I front as I plan my m-ATX AM5 upgrade. The heatsink complications for this are doable but something to consider but otherwise the VRM power delivery is impressive, to say the least. I'm really happy with what is being offered for the B850 chipsets and hoping to take advantage of something by next fall.

Edit: Forgot to mention that is a great price point for what is being offered.

I just built with this board. So far no problems. Very easy to setup. Regularly seeing my 9800X3D boost to 5.4 Ghz.

I saw your rig post... nice look. Question on your fans... are your side and rear fans exhaust or just fje reversed fans so they are intake?

side and bottom are intakes, with the side being reverse blade. I would have bought reverse blade for the bottom but I bought the last 3 that MC had. Top and rear are exhaust.

That's pretty much the same fan layout I'm using. Though after watching J2c's testing I've considered making my rear fan to intake as well, but he wasn't using side intake fans as well so meh. No issues with thermals on my rig either.

rear fan to intake
I keep flip flopping with that on my mATX builds. I'm pretty sure I set it up that way with the 4090/5800X3D rig because their radiators are both exhaust but the 5090/9800X3D is a bit more complicated. The GPU fan shroud is maybe 10mm or so from the bottom of the case so definite intake happening there. Then of course the CPU AIO is exhausting out the top but recently I added 2x120mm Noctuas to the side for intake as well. For now I've setup the rear as exhaust but at one point I did have it as intake. On top of all that the AIO I'm using in that rig has a VRM fan on the pump. I'd estimate that overall sound volume hangs in the 20-30 dB range and ramps up to 40ish levels during heavy loads but is keeping temps mostly in the 50-60c range for the CPU and GPU tops around 68-70c.
