Despite being released over seven years ago, the latest installment of Rockstar Games’ popular open-world franchise, Grand Theft Auto, has managed to sell 140 million copies. The incredible achievement was revealed by Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick yesterday, who touched upon the series’ tremendous popularity and ongoing success during his company’s Q3 2021 earnings call.

“In the history of the entertainment industry, there’s perhaps no experience that’s more loved, more expansive, more critically acclaimed and more successful than Rockstar Games Grand Theft Auto,” Zelnick boasted in a transcript published on Seeking Alpha. “Grand Theft Auto V remains one of the most iconic titles ever...

I got this game for free on Epic, but have not played it yet.

I enjoyed the single player campaign for the game.
As did I. I borrowed it on X360 and played through it there, but didn't get to finish up some side missions and other extra stuff cuz my friend asked for the game back. Later I got it on PC, but never got back to where I wuz on the X360 version. I didn't even finish the single-player campaign on PC.

Hahahaha

GTA4 and GTA3 were amazing as is, but throw in the amazing modding community and the games just got better. Although GTA4 had loads of its own issues (GFWL anyone?) but the core game was wonderful, felt great to play.

The "current" game was solid in its single player for the most part but its multiplayer mode is so riddled with micro transaction BS, homing rockets, flying motorcycles, etc, that I can't enjoy it.

To this day I still have not finished the single player campaign.
Me neither but have had a lot of fun just driving around and checking things out. I've used it for benching but what ultimately kept me from going back and completing it are the load times. No matter how fast of a rig it still feels like it takes forever. I think I'm around 30-40% through it with a few side missions completed. I do love the graphics and music.

RDR2 is the same. Really looked forward to its release, got it day 1, but then had to wait until I got my 3090 to crank up the visuals in 4K. The game is still sitting because I just can't get myself into it and those load times are ridiculous.

Also f*ck whoever decided that the game should not have a title screen/title menu, and instead load straight into gameplay upon launching the game. That's some real trifling bullsh1t. Can't even check the Settings menu until you've loaded into the game.

I haven't touched RDR2 yet. Nice to know I can look forward to sh1tty-@ss load times there too. And let me ask this now, how does the game behave upon launch? Does it actually have a f*cking title screen, or does it load straight into the game like GTA5?

I really enjoyed RDR1 (borrowed it on X360), I hope RDR2 is just as enjoyable.

It goes to a menu, takes a moderate amount of time, then when you start the campaign it takes forever to load, shows some nice pseudo lithographs along the way but still ridiculous. I feel like I'm back in the days with a tape drive and this is using the rig in my sig and it's installed on the PCIe 4.0 SSD(I know that doesn't make much difference but still). Using the bench tool does the same.

I'd say the game is enjoyable but right now I'm just not into it. Looks great and all the reviews for the PC version are pretty accurate. The only thing that's totally useless is HDR. I've got some games where HDR works well with at least my T.V.'s but this isn't one of them.

FiveM and the massive amount of mods is the reason GTAV has lasted so long and continues to sell. Between the visual mods and huge role play community it's not going anywhere anytime soon.

GTAV with visual mods looks better than some new AAA titles.

I forgot about that but totally agree.
