PC players have spent years assuming they’d be watching GTA VI on YouTube for a year and a half before getting to play it. That assumption may finally be wrong (Ed: Are you trying to be funny with the featured image you picked?). GamesBeat reported on October 13 that Rockstar plans to release the PC […]

I'm sure that the rumors, which look credible, about an early build already out in the wild, and supposedly playable to the very end with nearly all single-player content, and that great strides have been made in getting it running on PC, have a lot to do with this latest rumor as well. Rockstar and Take-Two can spin it how they want, but if a "community" PC version is on the verge of happening, then they have to make a decision on how to proceed because legal measures will only go so far.

I don't believe for a minute that GTA 6 will come only a few months after the console version.
Oh I don't think they want it to at all. Hence why the leaker cancelled it after probably everyone he ever knew being threatened with some sort of legal action and pain in the court system that would invariably fail after putting them into pain and debt. Punitive lawsuits anyone?!

I know how most folks want to pick their favorites, and I used to try as well, but in general, I'm really starting to feel that tech, as a whole, is anti-consumer.

Honestly, it's about money, and anything between tech and money is the enemy. And oddly enough in many cases... that is the consumer.

Kids today are going to grow up playing games that exploit everything about them and how they think and feel. All with the goal of extracting more money from their pockets.

Social games are huge... my 30+ son is in the next room over playing social shooters with people he knows from online. They are his friends like real friends. I am from a generation where that isn't a thing. Sure you'll have 'friends' from online but the emotional/cognitive barrier is there from FRIENDS. I would go so far as to say online Friends are there but RL friends take precedence. But for him they are one and the same in many cases.

And games today are exploiting that for income/engagement/advertisement.

Games used to be about something different, about making a great experience. But now... it's harder to find that.

Thankfully they are still out there... studio's with folks like me are out there making games for people that want a fun game with a great story.

(Control Resonant is one in my opinion.)
