Halo: Campaign Evolved PC Requirements Revealed Ahead of July 28 Launch

I don't suppose this game has multiplayer, does it?
If every version and port of the original game has both co-op and multiplayer, why would this one not have it? If it doesn't, then the game needs to have a cheap launch price. It would be a pretty f*cking stupid decision to release this game without co-op and multiplayer though. I can't see them doing that. Especially cuz they are charging a whopping $50 for it. I'm primarily a single-player guy, but a Halo game without co-op and multiplayer is a ripoff if it's not $20 or less (and that's being generous considering Halo MCC has often gone on sale for $10 and includes six games with multiplayer and co-op).

Personally I would prefer they focused on the single player experience and release the co-op/multiplayer part as DLC later. Staying focused is the name of the game. I personally think that single players outnumber multiplayers by a huge margin. Not everyone wants the chaos of dealing with other humans in a game.

No, it will be campaign only. They may follow the model they used for Infinite where the MP is separate and F2P. Player counts are not great on Steam, but XBOX is probably where most play. Or perhaps it has done so poorly they are not going to bother investing in it? This was all going on before the new boss took over. She is making good decisions so far, and seems to have her finger on the gamers pulse, so I expect things will get better over time.

What is there to focus on? It's an already-existing game they are remaking. Unless you think this remake is gonna be drastically different from the original. From the videos I've seen, the levels are pretty much exactly the same.

And at least in the original game co-op is the same single-player experience with an extra human player. Even with Halo 3, ODST, and Reach with 4P co-op, the co-op was just the same single-player experience with 4 human players. Not much you have to do there aside from making sure there are no bugs and glitches and that players respawn properly and stuff.

The multiplayer they could also just copy+paste from the original game if they wanted, with some minor tweaks.

But in general I agree, with brand-new games that aren't remakes the devs should definitely focus on the single-player experience (which in the case of Halo co-op counts as part of that), and handle multiplayer after that sh1t gets polished.

That has not traditionally been true with Halo games. A lot of people refuse to play Halo games without co-op (several of my friends included), and a lot of people have never touched the single-player and only focus on the multiplayer (too bad, they are missing out). Me, if a game has multiplayer that I actually want to play (which is rare), I don't even touch the multiplayer until I've been through the single-player campaign. But I do recognize that multiplayer is a huuuuuuuuuuuuge major part of the overall Halo experience.

What Halo multiplayer should f*cking have is bots. Games like Quake 3 and the UT series and such all had great bots decades ago. But you're telling me Bungie and then 343i had no f*cking idea how to make some decent bots?! If there's one thing that's really pissed me off about the Halo series more than anything else, it's the lack of bots for the multiplayer.

Also the lack of split-screen multiplayer on PC is really f*cking sad, when plenty of other games do it. Gears of War 4 and 5, Serious Sam 3, Doom 64, a few Nightdive remasters like Blood: Refreshed Supply, the upcoming Super Yooka-Laylee Kart, and a bunch of others I am forgetting. Point is, if AAA games like Gears 4 and 5 can have it (and LAN support), so too should Halo MCC and Halo Infinite and this upcoming remake.

Really?! Well that's unexpected. Makes no difference to me personally, but that's a wweeiirrdd f*cking choice for a Halo game. Especially a remake of the original one.

Yeah that could be possible.

I agree. Phil&co were ruining XBOX, and the decision seems right on brand.

The Halo game I want to play is doing with 117 what we just saw with 007. Start over from the beginning and get new players invested in the character. The show did it, but the budget and writing were lacking.

I am finding out that as the decades accrue on my biological organism self, my tendency to rant goes up.
