Here’s What the PlayStation 5 Dev Kit Looks like in Person

A real-life photo of what appears to be the PlayStation 5 dev kit has hit the web, courtesy of @ZONEofTECH. If you already thought the console was hideous based on the previous leaks, your opinion won't change here: the actual prototype is pretty much identical to the images and renders that were first shared by LetsGoDigital.

You can see this is "Prototype 1" and is "Not For Sale" (can you imagine how much this thing would go for on eBay?) and it has the On/Standby, Reset, Eject, System Init, and Network Init buttons on the front. Don't expect the System Init and Network Init buttons on your PS5 when it launches in December 2020, however.

It’s certainly an acquired taste, that’s for sure. I’d rather it was more minimalistic.

Totally awesome stuff. Thanks for posting. I can't seem to find images anywhere but at one point there was a PS2 fat model Japanese computer model. I had the promo materials for it back in the day. Now all I can find are images of the USB keyboard. Ever heard of that?

Yeah unfortunately I can't find anything about it anywhere. I seriously almost tried to order it. I heard about it around 1-2 years after the regular release and it would've cost me upwards of $500 to order and at the time was far outside of something I wanted to take a chance on.

So still can't find an image but I'm pretty sure what I saw was a PS2 Tool combined with the official Sony devkit. The printed materials I had back in the day were copied from a magazine around the time the original fat version came out. Here's an image of the dev kit pieces, note the Sony keyboard and HDD.
