What's a good way to compete with the increasing number of streaming competitors? For Hulu, it's raising prices. The company has increased the cost of its live TV service by $10, which means that users will now be paying $54.99 a month. This is actually the second price hike (there was already a $5 price increase in February).

Price changes are never easy to stomach, and we know that many people don’t watch live television year-round, so we’ve made it easy for Hulu subscribers to switch back and forth between our plans to best suit their needs. If you love college football, choose Hulu + Live TV during the season, then switch to one of Hulu’s less expensive on-demand plans when it’s over. If you enjoy most of your TV on demand but really want to watch live election news, just switch to Hulu + Live TV for a few months.

Pfft.. good luck to live TV... In any form.
Theres no excuse for these " services" not to be ad supported only. The amounts of ads is truly brutal.. talk about salting wounds by having to pay for it large amounts of money.
Well pluto tv is free, so they got it right so far.

Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, HBO, Disney and how many others. We're inching our way back to cable again. Won't be long, you'll have to have several services to get the content you want and at $15/month, you're right back at what cable cost and caused you to cut the cord 5 years ago.

At about $55 each month, you might as well go with cable or dish-based services with a DVR. I pay about $30 each month for a decent package and a DVR.

Glad I got the basic Hulu thru the Disney Bundle. This price for Hulu + seems outrageous. Totally defeats the purpose.

The benefit is being able to pick and choose each streaming service and cancelling one or more whenever desired, without having contractual locks like most cable/satellite providers.

Too true but also has pro's and con's. On one hand you can cancel at anytime. On the other no such thing as a locked in price and they can hike the price at anytime.
