Yep, Intel is definitely looking to compete at the mid-tier levels and even edging a little higher than that in terms of overall performance. I can see why they've been so mobile-focused but then also those same parts have more potential unlocked in desktop setups with the added power and cooling. In some ways, this is what we've seen NVIDIA doing for years when using cutdown desktop GPUs for mobile and in rare occasions the exact same.
