My problem with awards is there are so many, some movies have won more awards then there are people that have seen it.

So it comes back to commercial success. The greater the income earned, the larger the bribes afforded, the more awards claimed. Quite simple, no?

You can tell when the bribes are not paid. It took FOREVER for the Lord of the Rings Trilogy to get proper recognition.

that's a strange conclusion, there are some 6 billion people and only what? 370 million people in the USA and Canada combined for almost 1/3 of the revenue, that's proportionally a lot more.

That's an interesting way to put it, but doesn't take away from the fact that more people outside of the US/Canada went to see the movie.
