Are the adventures of Lando Calrissian too big to contain to a simple streaming series? That seems to be the case, as Stephen Glover, Donald Glover's brother and co-writer on Star Wars: Lando, has revealed that Lucasfilm is turning what was originally meant to be a TV series into a feature film, with Glover returning to the role following his appearance as the gambler and smuggler in 2018's Solo: A Star Wars Story. Sources with IGN have corroborated the news, while fans of Billy Dee Williams, who played Calrissian in the original trilogy, can see his older version of the character in Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker.

Feels like Disney grasping at straws here. I won't rule it out YET... but I'm close.

If I think of the mindless zombies with no critical thinking skills saying that obi wan and ashoka are the bestest things ever, this might even work out in their favor.

The only way I could see this being good is if the greater focus is on the Huts or other SW space mafia types and Lando ends up being more of a peripheral character as a larger story involving them grows. Seeing them working with and also being a thorn in the sides of the Empire and Republic could be interesting.

I think focusing on the Hutt and other criminal organizations operating with both sides to maximized their profits and place in the galaxy could be a good story and cast some much needed gray area into the star wars universe.
