MOUSE Is an Adrenaline-Pumping “Grandboomer Shooter” That’s Launching in 2025 on PC

Well that's certainly an interesting visual take. Reminds me a bit of Cuphead, but FPS instead of side-scrolling platformer-shooter. Cuphead was in color though. I'm not really down with black-and-white.

So in watching that video... it heralded memories of a different game for me...

Sure the sound is better and the animation better... but still...

The whole thematic thing with killing anthropomorphic pig cops and such. And the witty one liners.

Meh not for me but it gives me a XIII flavor in black and white I guess.

I couldn't think of a single reason why I would want to play something like this. I enjoy games because of immersion. Any attempt to make games have a certain "look" goes against immersion. The only look you should aim for is more realism.

As a huge borderlands and wow fan I disagree, I think there is room for all kinds and of graphics and if graphics like this make a smaller company able to make great games I'm all fo rit.

Realism is fun but not always neded or preferred imo.

I tend to aim for more realistic-looking games as well but I get that some folks are into specific aesthetics and designs. In either case though, yeah, I'm not into this one.

I have to admit that I'm pretty much in MadMummy76's camp on this one. Developers can do whatever they want but anything overly stylized is likely to be polarizing and limit their audience somewhat. I don't have a problem with developers doing things like this but generally speaking, they won't get my dollars if they do. For me, these types of visuals are distracting and are anything but immersive.

I don't like it when they do it in films. Overly stylized films like 300, Justice League, and Sin City just don't work for me. It's a non-starter for me in games.

Funny you should mention borderlands, I followed very closely the development of that game. Until they announced late into the cycle that they are switching to the cell shaded look. The only time I was more disappointed was when Trans Am racing 68-72 was cancelled.

I already freak out when I see a movie has that yellow or blue tinted look. I outright refuse to watch black and white movies. I mean the ones that are made deliberately B&W and isn't so for technical reasons.

I used to view old games with stylized graphics as a necessity, not a choice.
