How did this game remind you of DN3D?So in watching that video... it heralded memories of a different game for me...
I couldn't think of a single reason why I would want to play something like this. I enjoy games because of immersion. Any attempt to make games have a certain "look" goes against immersion. The only look you should aim for is more realism.

I have to admit that I'm pretty much in MadMummy76's camp on this one. Developers can do whatever they want but anything overly stylized is likely to be polarizing and limit their audience somewhat. I don't have a problem with developers doing things like this but generally speaking, they won't get my dollars if they do. For me, these types of visuals are distracting and are anything but immersive. As a huge borderlands and wow fan I disagree, I think there is room for all kinds and of graphics and if graphics like this make a smaller company able to make great games I'm all fo rit.
Realism is fun but not always neded or preferred imo.
Funny you should mention borderlands, I followed very closely the development of that game. Until they announced late into the cycle that they are switching to the cell shaded look. The only time I was more disappointed was when Trans Am racing 68-72 was cancelled. As a huge borderlands and wow fan I disagree, I think there is room for all kinds and of graphics and if graphics like this make a smaller company able to make great games I'm all fo rit.

I already freak out when I see a movie has that yellow or blue tinted look. I outright refuse to watch black and white movies. I mean the ones that are made deliberately B&W and isn't so for technical reasons.I have to admit that I'm pretty much in MadMummy76's camp on this one. I don't like it when they do it in films. Overly stylized films like 300, Justice League, and Sin City just don't work for me. It's a non-starter for me in games.
