MSI's statement acknowledges that it is investigating the matter, as is GamersNexus, which is said to be in contact with the user of the first report and also working with AMD regarding it. Meanwhile, another user has shared images of a seemingly similar incident involving their MSI MAG X870 TOMAHAWK WIFI motherboard.

Fired mine up in my B650 Tomahawk and so far so good. Those pictures really look like user errors to me.
 
Yeah, as long as you are gentle with these things, carefully place them in and allow gravity to do the rest, without trying to force them and stop if you feel any resistance this seems rather unlikely to occur, even if you accidentally place them in the wrong way at first

While true, the force needed to close the bracket always makes me cringe somewhat when doing that bit, with my current built I even stopped and checked to see if it was seated correctly because all the force needed /shiver
