Neil Druckmann says that a recently published interview featured edited versions of his answers that lost the context of their meaning. Quoted as stating “I’m eager to see how this new game resonates, especially following the success of The Last of Us, as it could redefine mainstream perceptions of gaming”, the Last of Us developer's answer seemed to be only hyping their next game.

Neil should be more concerned about gamer's perception of gaming. It's one thing to try to pander to the "mainstream" but it is gamers who pay the bills ultimately. And after TLOU2 he faces a very uphill battle trying to sell their next game, whatever it is.
