NVIDIA revealed a handful of upcoming products during its CES 2022 Special Address. They include new graphics cards such as the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti and GeForce RTX 3050, as well as new laptop GPUs such as the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and GeForce RTX 3070 Ti.



GeForce RTX 3090 Ti



While not much of a secret, NVIDIA’s Jeff Fisher confirmed the existence of the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti during the company’s special address, calling it a “monster of a GPU.” Pricing and date of availability are still unclear, but some of its specifications were teased, which include 10,752 CUDA cores and 24 GB of GDDR6X memory. The TDP is 450 watts.









GeForce RTX 3050



The GeForce RTX 3050 is NVIDIA’s latest option for gamers who want to enter Ampere on a budget. It will be available beginning on January 27 for an MSRP of $249.

Pretty sure NVIDIA had a typo for the RTX 3050. With today's market it should probably read $2490.00.
 
Meh.

I don't care about new products. I care about availability. We still can't buy what was released a year and a half ago.

If new products bring availability - then I'm excited. But no mention of any of that really. So I just assume all of these will be bought in bulk by the same bots/scalpers/miners, and we'll continue to see the status quo of most gamers getting locked out.

Sad but true.
 
At this point I think it is going to start hurting tech sites and 'influencers' as well. Because I'm not interested in new product reviews for products I can't buy anyway.
 
I've been pretty lucky with the Newegg Shuffle so far. You just have to enter it every-single-day it's available.

It's not starting, they are already having a bad time Linus even had to use a RTX2080Ti in a recent build as he can't get 3000 series anymore and this guy even managed to sell cards to "gamers" for a while.

Seems most of them are already seeing dropped viewer counts and subs and are looking for new angles to keep things going. Yeah yeah, I know I watch way too much youtube while leveling alts in wow.

The bad thing in Europe is that the stores themselves are scalping and we don't have newegg and Amazon over here sucks for tech stuff.

I did sign up on EVGA's list but who knows if that is ever going to amount to anything, not that I need another 3080 just curious if I'll ever get an update for future reference as EVGA is not that big a player over here, their shipments are even shipped from Taiwan to Europe, nothing local here.

As of late they haven't been any better. Both allow 3rd party sales, so people just bot-buy the official stock and relist it marked up.

I guess you have Shuffle, which was a great idea. But even that has been crappy - it has a great selection of:
-- the stuff they can't give away on Deal of the Day,
-- overpriced/marked up low end parts, and
-- just a couple of decent parts with suspected extremely low inventory just so they can keep people singing up.

Yeah I'd say this was your best bet, but even this moves at a glacial pace -- and if you didn't sign up on Day 1, you're already out of luck. EVGA changed the queue and kicked a lot of people out (only allowed to be queued for 2 SKUs now), and the non-top end queues just aren't moving. But, curiously, you see a good deal of the mid-end EVGA stuff pop up in Newegg Shuffle....

I've seen OC3D track that with a few different stories on it. It's a shame more sites over there are not covering it but TBH some of our members have said the same about Microcenter.

I tried every day for about a year with no luck. Finally, on the day I could've gotten something I was out in the field with no internet to respond with, and even then it wasn't something I really wanted for myself as I was also trying to help David look for review inventory. I stopped checking the shuffle for the very reasons you listed. After a while, it seemed like I was going to have to buy at a scalpers price just by getting something a combo with parts I couldn't use and then have the burden to unload. About six months ago I noticed a legitimate company I used over the years to buy laptops(XOTIC PC) suddenly had a stock of SUPRIM 3090s. They were marked up by about $400+ but I still pulled the trigger. Of course, I'm not thrilled with the price but neither do I have any regrets about getting what I was after. It was still about $1K-$2K less than what I've seen scalpers selling for. I also remember trying to get on when BB unveiled orders only to be beaten by bots. So many carts that I watched go empty after a clicked purchase.

I really can't fault 'gouging'. Even on Ebay.

Business is business and it's essentially impossible to sort 'legitimate' purchasers (gamers, content creators) from what we would like to think are illegitimate purchasers (miners). The cross-section of miners and gamers also likely has significant overlap, especially when we start talking about gamers that build their own systems.

And there's nothing stopping your average gamer from becoming a miner themselves, so you start getting into the situation of trying to police thoughtcrime.

It won't matter to him - that day when the market adjusts is exactly why they're making the bank they can now.

If you recall the various struggling efforts that AMD went through due to cash flow shortages, that's why companies aren't doing 'more'. No one - especially not with an ego the size of Jensen Huang's - wants to be there.

Yeah, we don't even have a chance of catching something near msrp, the lowest I've seen for a 3080 was around $2000. but now it's pushing $3000 at the stores for most variants, with 3090 being twice that.

Anyone who starts mining on their gaming pc can hand in their gaming card as far as I'm concerned they are miners at that point, not gamers. And I'll treat them with the appropriate level of contempt.

And no, "but I just want to recoup some of the price" is no excuse. Mining has shown to me that most people are awful, and if they can get away with doing the awful thing they'll do it without hesitation for personal gain. To me this shows that if armed robbery had the same risk level they'd do that too.

Yes, but even their prices are out of whack on certain hardware. Had to send back that 3080Ti I got from them since it was priced where it was and I couldn't see it for what I had in it to help someone else out. It's just the market we're in unfortunately.
