I think this is overblown.

Warranty goes to the PSU maker in this scenario.

It would be the same in any situation when a power cable melts.

Yes the connector sucks but the GPU didn't malfunction (without investigation by the PSU/cable maker).

This is why I have an extended warranty through microcenter. They won't faf about. Sure it's just sgore credit toward a new card but stil..
