Prices for NVIDIA and AMD Graphics Cards Are Supposedly Dropping

The outrageous pricing of graphics cards are beginning to decrease to more tolerable levels. This is according to retail price trends shared by 3DCenter, which show that NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics cards have fallen to 191 percent above MSRP in recent days versus 233 percent above MSRP in May. AMD Radeon RX 6000 Series graphics cards have also shown a welcome (albeit comparatively modest) decrease in pricing. Unfortunately, these premiums are still absurd and nobody can predict when NVIDIA and AMD’s GPUs will finally go back to normal pricing. What’s worse is that many enthusiasts seem convinced that the MSRPs of modern graphics cards are overpriced to begin with...

Now for the rest of the world.... I get the idea of it, but is it really a long term investment. Seems like so much of it is fly by night. But then so is the economy right now too.

Just seems like a lot of effort for uncertain gains.
 
yep scalping for 3090s is down to around $3800 from just over $4000 before. hard pass still and like @Riccochet said-keep an eye on shipping because I've seen a lot of wacky things on Amazon since the new year. I'm talking about items selling for around twenty and then upwards of sixty for shipping.
