Pre-orders for the Resident Evil 4 remake are now live on the Apple App Store, and according to screenshots that have been shared online, the new port of the survival horror game for iPhone 15 and other select iOS devices will cost $59.99/£57.99 to unlock when it releases later this year. Those numbers would make the mobile version of RE4 just as pricey as the console and PC editions of the game, which are currently listed for $59.99 on various storefronts, including Steam, where a Deluxe Edition can also be had for $69.99. The pricing for RE4's mobile edition comes on the heels of new comments from Capcom President Haruhiro Tsujimoto, who discussed the rising costs of game development during Tokyo Game Show 2023 and claimed that "game prices are too low."

Read that statement as. "Profits are too low."

Here's what I want to know, if you are NOT publicly traded, and are a profitable company. You should only be charging more if you need to grow your company to achieve an new goal.

The publicly traded companies can NOT provide long term value to consumers. It's just not profitable to do so.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT
The f*ck kind of nonsense is this?! Well to him I say the same thing I said when $70 became the standard price for new games during this 9th-gen era: charge all you want for it, doesn't mean sh1t to me, cuz I only buy games at cheap sale prices. I mainly operate in the $20-or-less range, the majority of that being $10 or less.

Also charging $60 for a game on a mobile platform is ridiculous, even if that game came out for real platforms earlier this year. Overpriced on console and PC, even more overpriced on mobile.

Hahahaha yeah.

It's funny because programs for processors are a commodity that costs next to nothing to replicate. It's not like outside of creating and patching the gsme there are further development costs. The whole . "It's too expensive to make a game." Is bullshit. The market is massive. It's too expensive to make trash games that people revile makes a lot more sense.
