For middle management almost never. You need to be in a critical role for the core of a business to feel safe.
 
If the staff at Kadokawa are enthusiastic about a potential buyout, that's a red flag. Given the uncertainty buyouts usually bring, people are usually much more concerned than anything in the best of cases. If they are enthusiastic, it means that working there is a **** show and all they can see is a potential improvement of their situation.

Sony doesn't need another Firewalk Studios on their hands but that's probably what they are going to get if this is actually the sentiment around the Kodokawa offices.
