Another day, another tease regarding the potential upcoming launch of Valve’s wireless VR headset, the Steam Frame. This time around, inspirational hope for a near release comes via Qualcomm’s Device Finder, which has listed the Steam Frame’s CPU. Valve has designed the Steam Frame not only for gaming but also as a VR solution for […]

So i take it the frame will work with the box, or whatever its called?
It is streaming first, so yes. Steam Machine affectionately known as the Gabe Cube, should be the center of the ecosystem. Stream games to your Valve devices, or play in lower quality on that device. I suspect the cube's hardware, running the custom optimized SteamOS, will punch above its weight compared to windows performance.

Obviously, your present PC will work for streaming too.
Huh that's interesting... I was kind of expecting an AMD SOC.
I was also a bit surprised when someone on AT told us about it a ways back. It probably made the most sense for the battery life and advertised use cases?

That may be a worthwhile setup. A frame and a gabe cube should be a lot of fun.
I had a deck for a while, something happened to it, it died, so that sucked, i had it hooked up to a monitor and all that. Meh, i may look into the gabe cube and the frame idk.

Oh huh, I had heard it was an ARM processor right from the beginning. There's been some work lately about improving Steam on ARM, and people have been saying this work is being done mainly to benefit the Steam Frame.

Depending on the price I might get one of these. Never done VR for one reason or another but this looks interesting.
As I've shared; great for streaming content. And a fun way to shake up your usual exercise/workouts. Well worth having a headset, as long as they support it for a fair number of years.

Same.

One of my friends moved to NYC a few years ago, and before he rolled out he gave me some equipment: a HOTAS controller of some kind, and a VR headset with controllers. I have yet to test either device, or even ID make and model. Aside from him, no one I know owns a VR headset, so I've never had the opportunity to try it. I didn't even know he had one until he gave it to me. Maybe one day I'll actually bother to check it out, but most of the time I forget I even have it. I remember the HOTAS controller and tell myself every once in a while that I should test it out, but I forget about the VR shiznit.
