Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick was straight to the point in explaining why Grand Theft Auto VI will not be on PC when it launches. Assuming that another delay doesn’t come into play, GTA 6 is expected to launch on November 19, 2026. Now, while there had been hopes it would arrive for PC and consoles, […]

And this usual attitude of treating PC gamers as 2nd-class citizens is why most people I know do NOT pay for GTA games on PC. They grab community demos. Besides, when it does eventually show up on PC, they're gonna charge way too much money for it anyways (given its age by then). And who knows what state it'll be in. Some of us remember how GTA 4 turned out at launch... GTA 5 fared better, but that's cuz they already made x86-64/AMD64 remasters for the 8th-gen consoles, and used that as a base for the PC version. I didn't play RDR2 at launch but I seem to recall the PC version was kind of a mess at launch too. Just saying, no one should be running to preorder the PC version when available. Definitely wait and see with that shiznit.

Maybe one day GTA 6 will be offered for free on EGS like 5 was. Whether or not you bother with EGS is up to you. I still grab the free games, and GTA 5 was one of them. Already had played it twice before that though. Borrowed X360 version when my friend was done with his copy and went through that, and then I played most of the way through the PC version. My X360 never ran so hot as it did when I ranthat game. The power brick was also giving off mad heat. The game hard-locked my system a few times, and I had to shut it down. Fun times. Only a few console games ever crashed my system, on X360 and PS3. But I've seen from videos that 8th-gen and 9th-gen consoles have had hardlocks and crashes "to desktop" too.

No, thanks I've tried playing GTA5 on PS3, it was an abysmal experience, and abandoned the game one or two hours in and sold my copy.

Meh this is standard practice. Ill wait and if folks are loving the game ill buy it on pc.

GTA5 was mostly a benchmarking tool for me. I tried to get into it but got maybe a third of the way through before I finally gave up. Best times were just cruising, listening to music and watching the sunrise/sunsets. That being said, the only way I'll end up with this is if it gets bundled with something.

I played GTA4 - didn't think that was bad, but not really up to the hype.
GTA5 - got it free at EGS when they were bribing people to install it... played it about an hour and hung it up. Couldn't get into the control scheme or something, just didn't feel right and wasn't that interesting of a game for me to struggle with it long enough to get used to it.

They've always favored controller no matter the platform. RDR2 was pretty stable in my experience on PC launch till Rockstar quietly borked things for anyone not on win10 and forced you onto new AMD drivers in May 2020 then admitted it by the end of the year. I updated/reinstalled gpu drivers at least 15 times trying to fix connection issues.

The core audience thing is amusing though because PC online GTA5 has carried them for a long long time. Rockstar buying up fiveM for online RP mods is proof enough of that. Let alone the main money maker, shark cards for online cash.

GTA6 is not on my care list until it hits PC and proven to be playable and worth it, just for online since I only play 5 with friends. I've got maybe 2-3 hours in single player.

I don't buy it. Take Two CEO is lying. The real reason is that they are woefully behind on the PC version and need more work on it since they have to test it on a wide variety of hardware. Instead of hiring extra team members to speed up development, they will do the "economical" thing and launch the PC version later. It could also be a secret deal with both Sony and M$ to delay the PC version so few million extra consoles get sold. ANDDDDDDDD obviously piracy is also the reason. Especially since they now know that some PS5 consoles can run PC games with a hack so that could potentially affect console game sales too.

Every Rockstar game is like that. I hope that for GTA 6 they finally learned how to make some decent, responsive controls. But if I were a betting man, my money would not be on that. Be it with a controller or mouse and keyboard, Rockstar games have sluggish imprecise controls with slow input response. And I don't blame anyone for giving up on any of their games because of it. I'm honestly surprised I've played through as many Rockstar games as I have (GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas, GTA 5, RDR 1 and 2, for the games I have actually beaten). Bad controls sort of come with the Rockstar territory. You expect it, like the jankiness in Bethesda Softworks games, rife with bugs and glitches.

Never touched the multiplayer for GTA 4 or 5 or RDR2. I forget they even exist.
