There's a new speed demon on the horizon as TEAMGROUP announces its latest NVMe drive capable of read speeds up to 14,000 MB/s. The T-FORCE GE PRO is a M.2 2880 Gen5 NVMe SSD that uses a multi-core controller and is cooled by a thin graphene heat sink. InnoGrit's new 12nm low wattage/low power consumption IG5666 controller, combined with smart power management and thermal monitoring, allows the drive to reach high speeds without the need for more aggressive cooling measures. This in turn also enables builders to have more options since they do not have to accommodate the larger heat sinks and fans seen on some other more recent PCIe 4.0 and 5.0 drives.

Just pulled the trigger on the 2TB version at Newegg for $260. OK price, but what put it over the top is the inclusion of a Team Group $34 M.2 HSF and 360 AIO cooler thrown in. According to the spec sheet this has on board DRAM cache, but doesn't say how much. So this seemed like a great deal. Thanks for the info, Peter. Your bio looks somewhat similar to mine, although I was never in IT. I am a PC addict, however. My house looks like the warehouse at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark - lol. Oh, the AIO is the newer version w/ pump in the water block, (as opposed to the radiator).

Our house has very much looked the same but I'm now experiencing a desire to greatly reduce clutter and enjoy more open space. It's difficult after so many decades of letting things gather and taking a lot of planning.

Congrats on the new drive and welcome. We'll definitely want to hear how it performs for you. PCIe 5 gen tech is probably about 1-2 years out for me right now.
