And companies wonder why a slower drive that's pretty quick is getting business. IT's because they understand enterprise and data security. All of these super fast drives are great. But they are USELESS without encryption to anyone that has to think about data security.


While I know I could bitlocker the drive, what good does that do me if I need to use it as a sneakernet to move data between systems? Data portability and access is important as well.
 
I like using things like this for moving files, or games to different rigs around the house since it often ends up faster than what my WiFi will do between them. I also have a drive connected to our receiver with audio files, and then another to the TV with various media. From 4K rips to Hi-res audio using Wifi streaming for this stuff has been too problematic and our house only has 1 Ethernet port, and running cable is too much a hassle with the floor plan (but maybe one day).
