Hmm is that $18B from royalties and licensing, or what they expect the market for everything with a USB port on it?

It seems too big for the first and too small for the second.

That's just the growth rate. That's not reflective of... heck you know what USB devices are commodity type devices, replaced when end of use. Maybe they are going to stop making traditional USB ports on anything and stop making cables for traditional USB so everyone will have to buy new devices? I don't know.

Sandisk and Samsung Delay NAND Shipments, Transcend Left Without Supply Since October

“The company stated:
TranscendThe situation worsened in Q4 due to increased demand from large data centers and hyperscalers driven by major cloud service providers' expansion plans. All major chip manufacturers are prioritizing supply for these customers, which has led to price increases and extremely limited availability. Just last week alone, we were notified that costs had risen by 50-100%. The price-up trend continues at a very rapid pace and at an abnormal rate.
Transcend anticipates that this situation will persist for another three to five months before any relief occurs. Customers can expect limited availability in the fourth quarter of 2025 and the first quarter of 2026, when the situation is expected to reach its peak. Recently, it was reported that Sandisk raised its NAND Flash contract prices by 50% in November to align with supply and demand dynamics. This announcement prompted several module manufacturers to pause deliveries as they reassess pricing and customer commitments. Industry leaders such as Transcend, Innodisk, and Apacer Technology are among those who have temporarily halted shipments. Transcend, in particular, has suspended new quotes and outgoing deliveries starting November 7 as it evaluates its next steps. Transcend now confirms the situation and issues a warning about availability.”
