Who's going to sell ram at prices tolerable to end consumers when the profit margins are SO large and Demand is seemingly endless for the enterprise segment today? If any company did that with actual effort they would be sued by their share holders for not maximizing profits.

Now a privately ran place that had the tech and ability to make ram and CPU's, Hell even GPU's, or licensed the IP (at a hopefully reasonable cost) with the stated contractually enforced limit of NEVER selling to enterprise markets... that might be interesting. Make AMD and Nvidia GPU's and Ram charge more than before but far less than now... and consumer sentiment and orders would have them backordered for the next two years EASY.
