If the training data is gone, how can the AI know that what it is creating is not a 100% copy or a minor deviation of an existing piece of art?

The diffusion AI doesn't know anything, it is just a "dumb" program. But an exact copy of an existing piece of art will never come out of it. Similar art can result if the user gives specific prompts with that exact goal. But if you fake the mona lisa it is not the paintbrush's fault is it?
