  ;) ;)
some driver update creating a mess ?

problem is this is neither a pc nor a console
  1. console shouldn't break over something as simple as an update
  2. pc should be self-fixable without sending back to Valve. especially if valve had not disabled the igpu in the hawk point apu

I bet money there is a restore to factory thing you can do to reverse a software brick. If there isn't then shame on avalve. They built a mini pc with custom OS and AMD drivers and had no fallback? Sorry but AMD drivers have been lacking in refinement for a while. Even nvidia drivers have been recoverable and not brick hardware... yet. Wouldn't put it past them.

I know several people with a Steam Deck, and only one of them never had issues with it. All the other guys ended up having to send their systems to repair shops at least once (all situations were covered by warranty). The 2nd time my brother had to do it, it came back with something rattling inside. When he open the shell he found that one of the internal plastic clips for the shell had been broken off, and was just loose inside the machine.

According to the documentation, a solid red bar indicates an overheating CPU and/or GPU.

Oh wait no, I looked at the pictures of the person's unit again, and it looks like theirs means the system can't detect the SSD. At least as best as I can tell. It's just the right half of the light bar that is lit.
