This summer's Xbox Showcase is set to take place in the middle of what is becoming a packed extended weekend of game industry events. In the spirit of the phrase "nature abhors a vacuum", multiple gaming events have been scheduled within days of each other in the absence of E3. The Summer Game Fest 2024 kicks things off on Friday, June 7, followed by Xbox Showcase on June 9, and with Ubisoft's "UbiForward" event on Monday, June 10. For those wondering, Sony is rumored to hold its PlayStation State of Play sometime in May. Presently there's no word on if Nintendo is planning any events of its own for this summer but that is a possibility given the amount of recent rumors regarding the Switch 2, although it could also make some announcements at the Summer Game Fest 2024.
