  1. OMEGA PHENEX COMMENCED PROJECT SIX Is an Indie Mech Game with Strong Armored Core Vibes in Development for PC

Oh, heck yes. While we're at it, can we also get a Heavy Gear III?
  2. PlayStation Games Coming to PC on Day One Is Inevitable, Players Say as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Ends PS5 Exclusivity Just 468 Days After Release

Death Stranding (PS4): November 8th, 2019. PC version came out on July 14th, 2020. A gap of 248 days. The Last of Us was initially released in 2014, so it's a bit cheeky to use the 2023 PS5 remaster as a debut date.
  3. Piracy Causes a 20% Drop in Game Revenue, Denuvo DRM Research Finds

Chocolate is good for you, finds Hershey's study.
  4. MSI DATAMAG 20Gbps Magnetic Portable SSD Review

I will assume that these drives will be priced at either $21.99 or $18,346.75.
  5. Xbox Dominates Controller Use on Steam, Valve Reveals

Precisely this, for me. 90% of my time is spent with a mouse and keyboard, but for some games, a gamepad is better suited. In titles like Cocoon, Hades, Death's Door or Tunic, the twin stick layout and analog movement control simply feels better. Dave the Diver and Dredge were fun with a...
  6. AMD 3D V-Cache Optimizer Driver Gets Updated Ahead of Ryzen 9000X3D Series Launch

For anyone else looking, AMD pulled the direct link cited in the post. TechPowerUp has it mirrored, though. https://www.techpowerup.com/download/amd-ryzen-chipset-drivers/ Edit: Went back and checked, they just don't allow it to be hotlinked, is all. It can be downloaded from their support...
  7. PSA: GOG Will Begin Deleting Cloud Saves That Exceed 200 MB per Game in August

You can see what's being used for your Steam cloud saves by going to this link: https://store.steampowered.com/account/remotestorage Most games don't lean too hard to save file sizes, but there are always a few surprises here and there. The largest entry in my own library is Death Stranding...
  8. Deliver Us Mars Dev Lays Off Entire Team, Announces Kickstarter for Next Game

I really enjoyed Deliver us the Moon. The sequel just didn't have the same atmosphere, no puns intended. Losing the sense of isolation changed the mood drastically. Technical limitations (character models and animations, for instance) also brought scrutiny that was effectively sidestepped in the...
  9. Intel Graphics Driver 31.0.101.5333 Delivers Up to 155% FPS Uplift for Select DirectX 11 Titles

It's worth noting that the increases detailed in the release notes are specific to the Meteor Lake laptop series integrated GPUs, not desktop Arc A- series GPUs. Still, good to see continued progress!
  10. CableMod 12VHPWR Angled Adapters Officially Recalled for Overheating and Melting GPUs: “At Least $74,500 in Property Damage Claims”

  11. New Patriot Viper PV553 M.2 2280 PCIe Gen5 x4 SSD Is Capable of Sequential Read/Write Speeds Up to 12,400 MB/s, 11,800 MB/s

I love how they took the reference Phison heatsink and thought to themselves "what if we wrap a cosmetic insulating layer around it."
  12. Oppenheimer 4K UHD Blu-rays Hit $200 on eBay as Physical Versions of Christopher Nolan’s Atomic Bomb Film Sell Out at Retailers

I just checked out of curiosity, it looks like the only ones going for more than list price are the limited edition Steelbook packages which are only sold through Best Buy. Which makes sense. Anyone with $40 can walk into a local Target and pick up the 4K UHD with the normal plastic case just fine.
  13. Razer Announces Availability of Its First-Ever In-Ear Monitor, Bringing THX-Certified Sound to Gamers and Streamers

PSA: Razer owns THX; their own endorsement is best considered irrelevant.
  14. ASRock B650E PG Riptide WiFi Motherboard Review

Great rundown, but my only quibble would be the M.2 testing section. The results you saw for M2_2 are exactly in line with the slot's specs (Gen3x2), and contrary to what was written, ASRock does not refer to that particular slot as a "Hyper" M.2 slot from what I can see on the product page (or...
  15. CableMod Issues a Statement regarding Its Melted 12VHPWR Angled Adapters and Is Reimbursing Affected Users Whose RMA Requests Were Denied

While I'm not a fan of their tendency to magically manifest in comment form at the slightest mention of their brand (across any and all social media), this is how you treat your customers. Kudos. Full disclosure, I own one of their cables. I just wanted to be able to close my **** case side...
  16. MSI GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM X 24G Video Card Review

Nice writeup! I've got the same card and it's performed admirably (and better, for what it cost). A few super minor bits I noticed while reading - on page two, the test system lists an "Enegmax" AIO, which I assume is an Enermax. :D Resizeable BAR is also detailed there as being enabled for...
  17. Diablo Immortal Prompts False Advertising Investigation

For a fun time, check out this law firm's nearly absurd list of litigation. They probably had to hire someone full time just to keep up with posting them. https://classlawdc.com/blog/
